Who We Are

Founded by James Mitchell Snr. in 1969, Ayrshire Precision Engineering Limited, based in the West Coast of Scotland, is a leading sub- contract machine shop which specialises in manufacturing precision engineered components.

Starting off as a milling machine shop primarily serving the Jet Stream 157 private aircrafts for the then British Aerospace, Ayrshire Precision has grown and developed its customer base to serve the coal, oil and gas, nuclear, automotive and offshore renewables industries within the UK and beyond. We are confident that with our experience, skills and capabilities we are able to service most industries rapidly and expertly.

Robert Bradford, the Managing Director, leads a 25- strong skilled workforce in a 1000 sq metres wide factory equipped with an extensive number of CNC machines and lathes, using the newest technologies to transform your two dimensional designs into precise machined components. We continue to invest in technology and we are now the first machine shop in Scotland to own the Hurco Dual Column Vertical Machining Centre which will enable us to machine parts up to 2 metres wide.

Our quest for excellent service has seen us grow steadfastly though the decades. Our endurance to last all these years and succeed is a testament not only to our investment in cutting edge machinery but also to our commitment in ensuring our engineers are trained to the highest standards.

We can now proudly claim that we achieve 99.5% conformity on all parts manufactured and 99.7% on meeting all our delivery deadlines. Our high level of performance means that we maintain these targets every time to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
